Here it is, October 29, 2008, seven days before one of the most important US elections in history. The country and the world are waiting with baited breath. One week from today, the most powerful person of the most powerful country in the world will be chosen.
In the big picture, who is chosen is not nearly as important as the fact that he will be chosen. Today, the world waits with some uncertainty as to the out come of the election. By Wednesday, that uncertainty will be behind us. What the world needs right now is more certainty. A new President of the United States will be elected. The world will breathe a collective sigh of relief. It will be time for the leaders of the world to roll up their shirt sleeves and solve the economic crisis that has gripped us. Gone will be that nagging question in the back of everybody's mind, who will be the next President of the US? With that answer clear to everyone on Wednesday next week, we can move forward and solve the bigger issues of the world.
On Wednesday, no matter what political views you take, things will be better than they were just 24 hours before. How much better? I cannot tell you. It really depends upon you. If enough people believe things are better after the election, our collective thoughts and actions will make things better. Do your part for the world, on Wednesday, be happy you live in a country that gives you the right to choose your leader. Be kinder to other people. Love more. No matter what your current personal situation is, know that things are turning around and will be getting better immediately. It will happen.
